Preferences are accessible in the app from the menu at the top right, in most screens of the application:
The preferences window then opens:
General
- Language allows you to change the application language
- Font allows you to adjust the writing style used in all LiveSet scores, for displaying chords and symbols in general. Some fonts are very traditional (e.g. Finale Maestro), while others have a strong jazz real book style (Finale Jazz). You can choose at any time according to your preferences
-
Highlight structure applies color to structural elements in the display. Typically, the following elements are shown in red:
- repeat bar lines
- numbered alternate endings
- segno and coda symbols
- names of sections or references to named sections
- Color sections applies additional coloring to section symbols, making them even easier to distinguish visually
- Lyrics font allows you to adjust the font used for lyrics
- Include key adds the overall key of the song at the top right of the first page of the score
- Instrument allows you to choose the default instrument used to play chords when tapping on them
- Metronome type allows you to select the type of visual metronome used : flashes, oscillating ball on the top or on the bottom of the screen, or display of the beats in a bar, on the top or the bottom of the screen.
Accords
Tous les éléments de configuration de cette section visent à personnaliser comment certains types d'accords sont affichés dans les partitions standard ou les paroles qui comportent des accords.
In particular:
-
Postfix # and b allows you to define how chords with altered extensions (such as a raised 9th) are displayed:
or
-
Uncomfortable accepted (Cb, B#, etc.)
By default, LiveSet “simplifies” chords such as Cb, B#, E#, or Fb into B, C, F, or E respectively. However, depending on the key, this may be theoretically incorrect, and some musicians prefer strict notation. This option allows LiveSet to use theoretically correct notation -
German mnemonics (B/H)
In German chord notation, B corresponds to Bb, and H corresponds to B natural. This option enables this behavior
Edition mode
- Use the pencil tilt angle is used in free drawing annotation mode. When supported by the device, this option allows you to use the angle of the stylus to switch tools (typically between pencil and highlighter). Holding the stylus flat activates highlighting, while holding it normally activates the pencil
- Disable chord suggestions prevents LiveSet from suggesting possible chords in Edit mode
Show Time mode
- Preroll bars (metronome) allows you to configure how many bars are played when pressing the metronome button in Show Time mode. As a reminder, holding the button keeps the metronome running continuously. This option only applies to a short press. By reducing the number of bars below 1, you can choose "∞" (the infinity symbol), that disables the preroll, and always show the metronome continuously in Show Time mode.
- Page turner pedal launches the configuration assistant for a page-turn pedal. When selecting this option, LiveSet will ask you to press the “next page” and then the “previous page” buttons on your pedal, in order to register its controls
The page turner pedal can then be used in Show Time mode, as well as when viewing any score that contains multiple pages.
