Show Time mode

LiveSet is presented as the stage musician’s toolbox, so it naturally includes a dedicated mode in the app for use in live conditions: Show Time mode.

This dedicated mode, accessible from a setlist page, displays the songs in the setlist one after another, in full screen, with as few distractions as possible.

To launch Show Time mode, press the button at the bottom right of the screen in setlist editing.

To exit Show Time mode, press the small cross in the top right of the screen ().

Features

In Show Time, mode, most of the screen is dedicated to the current page, with only a few main features at the bottom of the screen.

Switching to "prompter" mode

For scores based on "lyrics" in general, but also usable with a standard chord score, prompter mode can be activated by pressing this button. More information about prompter mode is available here.

Media player

For musicians using backing tracks on stage, LiveSet allows to use the media player in Show Time mode, in order to play a pre-recorded track associated to and synchronized with the current displayed song.

If a YouTube URL or an audio file has been associated to the current song, then the icon shows on the top left corner of the screen, allowing to activate the media player:

Just like in the standard song view (see that page), the media player allows to:

• Select an audio file associated to the current song, or the configured YouTube link, with the left selector.
• Start/stop the media, go 5 seconds backwards or forwards.
• Activate audio transposition (pitch shifting) if the current song is transposed (this feature only applies to audio files, and cannot unfortunately be applied to a YouTube source).
• Show the timing markers defined in the song - if any - to access the directly.

As the Show Time mode is dedicated to a live public performance, we have set up a few differences in comparison to the standard media player in the main screen, out of security:

• The audio selector does not allow to import another new audio file - you only see the preconfigured files and links.
• The timing indicator on the right is not "reactive" - it is not possible to touch a particular location to quickly access it, in order to avoid an unwanted jump.
• Finally, if audio is currently playing and you want to go to another song in the set list, a confirmation message is shown before proceeding, in order to avoid brutally stopping audio.

Timer

The timer at the bottom left starts as soon as Show Time mode is activated and gives you an idea of the time elapsed since the beginning of the performance. The standard buttons (play/pause, reset) let you pause the timer or reset the counter to zero.

Starting note

The "starting note" button plays the starting note configured for the song or interlude. This feature is intended for singers who may need to start a song without an introduction.

Note: this button is only displayed if a starting note has been configured for the song or interlude.

Metronome

The "metronome" button starts two (or more) bars of visual metronome (and audio too, if sound is enabled) to give the starting tempo. If you keep the button pressed for one second, the metronome remains active until you turn it off manually (by pressing it again).

The number of "preroll" bars can be configured in the app Preferences.

Navigation

The following area lets you navigate from one page to another / from one song to another. 

If you keep your finger pressed for one second on the song number, the list of songs in the setlist is displayed, so you can quickly access a specific song. Note that songs already played in this section appear greyed out (those that have been displayed for at least 30 seconds).

Important: You can also (and it is often easier to) "swipe" anywhere on the screen from left to right or from right to left to move from one page to another.

It is also entirely possible, if it has been correctly configured, to use a page-turn pedal to move to the next or previous page. A page-turn pedal can be configured from the app Preferences.

Upcoming song

The final area helps you anticipate the next song by displaying its title.
