Main songs screen

The main songs screen displays the list of songs in your library, along with (if screen width allows it) a preview of the selected song.

Songs are sorted alphabetically. You can also tap/click the navigation bar on the right to quickly jump to songs starting with a specific letter.

By swiping a song to the left or right, additional features appear:

• Swiping left allows you to delete a song (after confirmation).
  Note: LiveSet prevents deletion if the song is still part of an existing setlist.

• Swiping right gives you two options:
  

  Export the song:

  • As a LiveSet file
  • As a PDF
  • To the public library (available with a BASIC/PRO subscription only)

  Or duplicate the song to create a new one.

At the bottom of the screen, you’ll find the button to add a song (see below), as well as the button to switch to setlist editing.

Song search

The search bar allows you to find songs easily. As you start typing, only songs containing the entered text in the title, artist name, or subtitle will be displayed.

Using tags

Tags are a quick way to organise your library. A tag groups songs that share a common characteristic. For example, a tag can represent:

• A musical style
• One of your bands/projects
• A specific project
• A language

To create a new tag, click the icon . 

You can then assign or remove this tag from a song using drag and drop. If multiple songs are selected (see Multi-selection below), then the tag is added or removed from all selected songs at once.

You can also filter the displayed songs by selecting/deselecting existing tags: only the songs having all the selected tags will be kept in the list.

Note: Tags can also be used in the window for adding songs to a setlist.

Multi-selection

From the menu in the top right (on Android/web, or  on iOS), you can enable multi-selection mode.

Use this mode to select multiple songs at once in order to:

•  Delete them in one action (if they are not used in an existing setlist)
• Export them into a single LiveSet file, or create a merged PDF containing all selected songs
• Add all selected songs to an existing setlist

Add a song

The button at the bottom left allows you to add or create a new song. The following options are available:

• New song: starts editing a new score in LiveSet format. The score editor opens.
• Import: adds a song to the library from a file or a photo. See below for supported formats.
• Public library: gives access to shared libraries of songs and lyrics. The public library screen allows you to search in both LiveSet public library (scores created by LiveSet users), and LRCLIB - an open source library for lyrics (more info here).

Supported formats

LiveSet supports importing the following file formats:

• LiveSet files (.lset) - the native format of the app
• PDF files
  If the PDF contains a lot of text, LiveSet may offer to extract it and create a lyrics sheet that can be edited and reformatted.
• Image files (JPEG or PNG)
  When importing an image, LiveSet allows you to add more pages to group multiple images if needed.
• Text files (.txt) - automatically converted into lyrics
• Microsoft Word files (.docx) - automatically converted into lyrics, including all the styling (bold/italic/underline/colour).
• ChordPro files (.pro, .cho, .crd, .chopro, .chord) - automatically converted into lyrics
• iReal Pro files (.html) - experimental; may allow recreating a LiveSet score from an iReal file. Results may vary depending on the complexity of the original chart.

Limitation: PDF and image scores, due to their nature, are not converted into LiveSet format. Therefore, they are not editable or playable. You can adjust some visual settings (see PDF/image score editing), annotate them, sync them with a YouTube video or audio file, or use them in setlists, but you cannot transpose them automatically or modify them deeply.
