When Edit mode is activated, the screen displays, at the top right, the save button () allowing you to persist the current changes.
The undo button () also appears as soon as a modification has been made, allowing you to revert the changes.
To exit Edit mode without saving changes, use the “Discard changes” option in the menu at the top right:
Edit mode is composed of three main parts:
- The largest area (in green) contains the current score, where many elements can be tapped/clicked.
- The toolbar (in blue, at the top) contains the most common features.
- The editor (on the left or at the bottom depending on screen orientation, in orange) contains features related to the element currently being edited.
Editable elements in the page
Within the score, many elements can be edited simply by tapping/clicking on them:
-
Chords, or areas intended to contain chords
-
Rhythmic notes, or rests
-
Bar lines, which can also be moved to resize bars (by default, bar width is based on 4 bars per line)
-
Rows, using their handle on the left, which can also be moved vertically to add spacing or tighten the layout
Finally, tapping the empty space to the right of the last bar in a row allows you to add a new bar to that row.
Multiple bars selection
By dragging from one bar to another, LiveSet selects all bars in between and provides additional features:
In addition to the standard Copy, Cut, and Delete functions, the following options are available:
- Duplicate: immediately copies these bars
-
Transpose: transposes all chords in the selected bars
Toolbar
The buttons in the toolbar (at the top of the screen) provide access to global page features:
- The button
enables move mode, allowing you to adjust the position of certain elements on the page without changing their meaning. This is mainly useful in specific cases where elements overlap. When move mode is active, movable areas are highlighted in yellow, or orange if they have already been moved from their default position. You can then drag elements directly on the page.
-
The button
allows you to add structural elements to the page, which can then be dragged into a free position. These include a text block, a lyrics block, a set of references to named sections in the score, and an authomatic rhythmic staff fill feature.
- The button
allows you to add a bar. Depending on the currently selected element (bar line or position within a measure), the measure is added before or after.
- The button
allows you to delete the current bar. If the bar is not empty, a warning is displayed.
- The button
allows you to paste copied bars. Depending on the current selection (or lack of selection), bars are inserted at the current position or added at the end of the score.
- The button
The button allows you to edit score layers (see this page).
- The button
gives access to editing the general score information.
