When editing a score that includes a rhythmic layer (see score structure), tapping a rhythmic symbol (note or rest) or an empty position displays the rhythm editor in the editing area:
Editing a rhythmic bar is based on entering symbols one note at a time. LiveSet ensures that only note/rest durations that are valid at the current position are available.
The symbols at the top of the screen allow you to move to the previous/next symbol, and to send the current or next bar to the next line.
The button enables or disables automatic rest filling. By default, LiveSet fills the bar with appropriate rests. However, there are situations where you may want to write bars that overlap beats, for example:
In this case, automatic filling must be disabled, otherwise LiveSet would only allow writing the bar while strictly respecting the beats:
At the bottom of the input keyboard, several buttons allow you to insert additional elements:
creates a tie with the next note (to be activated on the previous note)
starts a tuplet. Press the button multiple times to change the number of beats the tuplet spans (one beat, two beats, or four beats)
toggles note stems on or off (this option is not available for eighth notes or shorter, as they cannot be displayed without stems)
- The symbols on the right allow you to add various accents or articulations above the notes.
