When you create a new song, LiveSet first prompts you to fill in its general information:
In this window, you can enter:
- *The title of the song
- The author/composer/artist of the song (shown at the top right of the score)a0
- A subtitle, which will be shown below the title and in italics in the song list. The subtitle can be used to distinguish between several variations of the same song, for example.
- *The base key of the song
- The first note of the song - which can be used from Show Time mode - intended for singers who need to start songs without a musical introduction, so they can come in on pitch :)
- The tempo of the song
- *The time signature of the song
- The duration of the song, which will be used in particular to automatically calculate the duration of a setlist, but also to calculate its automatic scrolling if you use Prompter mode.a0
- The song’s YouTube URL, so you can associate a video with it as a reference. If you have entered the YouTube URL, LiveSet will offer to automatically retrieve the song duration from the video. Find out here how to use YouTube synchronisation in more detail.
Fields marked with an asterisk * are required.
All these fields can still be edited later by selecting the button at the top right of the screen (in Edit mode).
Score templates
When you create a new song, LiveSet also lets you get started faster by choosing a basic “template” with a few predefined settings:a0
- Simple chords: a basic chord chart, with no other complications.
- Lyrics (with or without chords): a lyrics score opens, in which you can also use chords (above each line of text). LiveSet automatically detects whether it is plain text or text accompanied by chords.
- Rhythm and chords: a main rhythmic staff, with chords above.
- Chords, alternate chords and rhythmic cues: a more complex score with more information
These settings are only a basic template, but LiveSet lets you adjust the presence/absence of the different elements, their size and their relative position.
