If the score currently being edited contains a melody or rhythm layer, it is possible to add lyrics in the form of syllables attached to the existing notes.
There are two ways to add a syllable layer:
- If the entire score should contain this layer, add it globally (see score structure).
- If the layer only applies to one or a few bars, use the toolbox to drag the element to the desired location.
Once a syllable layer has been added, simply tap the position below one of the existing notes to display the syllable editing keyboard:
The keyboard contains the following elements:
- The
and
buttons let you navigate from one position to another.
- The central area lets you enter and edit the current text.
- The
button lets you enable or disable the connection to the next position (for words split into several syllables).
- The
button clears the current syllable.
- Only in the case of an element added to a specific bar, the
button lets you remove the entire mini syllable layer from the current bar.
While entering text, you can also use the ENTER or TAB key to move to the next position. Similarly, pressing the "-" (hyphen) key moves to the next symbol after first enabling the connection between the syllables.
