Associating audio media (YouTube URL or MP3/WAV file) with a song in LiveSet has several uses. Besides the benefit of having a reference version of a song readily available, it also allows you to:
- Practise / listen back to each distinct part of the song precisely and instantly (e.g. the chorus, the bridge, etc.) using saved locators.
- Finely control the automatic scrolling of the score/lyrics in Prompter mode.
- Listen to the song in a different key (for audio files), following the transposition of your score.
To associate a YouTube video with the current song, open the song in Edit mode, and copy and paste the URL of a YouTube video into the song’s general information.
To associate an audio file (MP3 or WAV), simply use the Media Player, accessible with the button from the main view of a song.
Saving locators
To save the precise position of locations in the YouTube track / audio file, you need to open the song in Edit mode (using the button).
In this mode, a new button is added to the Media Player. When activated, it lets you add one or more precise locators in the song.
To add a locator, activate locator mode using this button, then tap a location in your score, typically:
- A bar
- A bar line
- A reference to a part of the song
The exact current timestamp of the YouTube video or audio file will be saved and associated with this location in the score.
Note that this also works with a song in PDF/image format. In that case, the visual location is simply used.
Using a locator
To use a saved locator , simply press the button in the Media Player, then one of the orange areas.
Playback of the audio media instantly jumps to the correct saved timestamp.
Deleting a locator
To delete an existing locator, activate Edit mode then choose the same button as when using them. In Edit mode, however, each area has a delete button (the small cross in the top right), which you simply press to delete the locator in question.
