When you create a new song, LiveSet first prompts you to fill in its general information:
In this window, you can enter:
- *The song title
- The author/composer/artist of the song (displayed at the top right of the score)
- A subtitle, which will be displayed below the title and in italics in the song list. The subtitle can be used, for example, to distinguish between different versions of the same song
- *The base key of the song
- The starting note of the song — which can be used in Show Time mode — intended for singers who need to start songs without a musical introduction, in order to come in on pitch
- The tempo of the song
- *The time signature of the song
- The duration of the song, which is used in particular to automatically calculate the duration of a setlist, but also to calculate automatic scrolling if you use Prompter mode
- The YouTube URL of the song, in order to associate a reference video with it. If a YouTube URL is provided, LiveSet can automatically retrieve the song duration from the video. See here for more details on how to use YouTube synchronization
Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required.
All these fields can be modified later at any time by using the button at the top right of the screen (in Edit mode).
Scores templates
When creating a new song, LiveSet also allows you to get started more quickly by choosing a base template with predefined settings:
- Plain chords only: a basic chord chart, without additional elements
- Lyrics (with or without chords): a lyrics sheet opens, where you can also add chords (above each line of text). LiveSet automatically detects whether the content is plain text or text with chords
- Rhythmic first with chords: a main rhythmic staff with chords above
- Chords, alternate chords and rhythmic hints: a more advanced score with additional information
These settings are only a starting point. LiveSet allows you to adjust the presence or absence of each element, as well as their size and relative positioning (see the global structure settings).
